APPRENTICESHIP
If you are currently working at a trade listed above, but your job does not afford the basic
human dignities of drinking water, bathroom facilities, or meal breaks; if you do not have
an established weekly pay day, are not receiving premium pay for overtime (i.e. over 8 hrs.
per day, weekends and holidays), do not have health benefits or don't participate in a
pension plan, contact the UBC Local Union office in your area about becoming a member of
the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.

What does the UBC Member get* for their union dues?
- Training - The Carpenter Skill Advancement Program offers courses to maintain, upgrade and enhance carpentry skills. These classes are free to members in good standing.
- Basic Medical Benefits - Hospital semi-private room & board; In-hospital services and supplies; In-hospital physician visits; Surgery; Outpatient X-rays and lab tests; Other outpatient facility expenses; Emergency physician's charges; Annual physical exam.
